MIDNIGHT MYSTERY CLUB ALRIGHT

On Friday, Midnight Mystery Club released their debut album Reason or Rhyme, a project that indulges a love for ‘70s and ‘80s songwriting that began to take shape in 2013 when David Paul Newell moved back to California having given up on music as a professional pursuit. This album also sees the first collaboration with Michael Gray, producer and one half of party instigators, Full Intent, responsible for several club hits in the past. From Reason or Rhyme, we’d love to draw your attention to ‘Alright’, a single perfect for your Friday night, packed with Balearic dance rhythms, sugar-rush synths, and generous doses of disco and retro pop. This liberating dance track encourages the listener to let go of all worries with lyrics like “There is no sense in us staying slaved to the fear of some changing” in Newell’s falsetto flutter. Listen, let go, and most of all enjoy! - HT
