What a week for debut singles this is! The latest in our string of first release is ‘Pany’ from the London-by-way-of-Brighton outfit Zooni, made up of Peter Martin, George Godwin, Ben Clark, and Matt Glassy. This track breathlessly awash with hypnotic synths, fragile beats and angular guitars, which swirl around poetic imagery evoking far-flung memories of missed chances. This combination wraps the listener up in this bittersweet narrative, as told through an intriguing vocal that unfolds from gentle tenor to raw growls. ‘Pany’ is a unique take on alternative-rock and art-pop, and an incredibly strong introduction to Zooni.
