New Zealand natives Yumi Zouma made a seriously good impression last year with their gloriously dreamy debut album Yoncalla. Just over a year later the quartet have shared news of album number two Willowbank, which will arrive on the 6th of October via trendy alt-pop label Cascine Records. New single 'December' smashes through its title's British connotations of rain, sleet and cold nights and gives us a glimmering insight into New Zealand summertime, combining shimmering guitars with breezy vocals and driving drums. With their members now spread across the globe from Paris to New York, Willowbank is a homecoming of sorts, recorded in their hometown of Christchurch, NZ. The band explain, “It was as though there was a brief pause in all of our lives and we finally felt like a band from New Zealand...We were on home turf and creating from a place that felt fundamentally natural". We'll be keeping an eye out for the next single from Willowbank but for now we're more than happy to bask in the glorious 'December' sunshine. -HLMX
