YASSASSIN WRECKLESS

Driving around the country in support of The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr. as we speak, rowdy Londoners Yassassin have somehow managed to find the time to drop a brand new single. Opening up with a blood-curdling layer of feedback, 'Wreckless' quickly descends into a wiry Brit-pop groove with a distinctively eerie dark side as vocalist Anna Haara Kristoferson taunts her way through the track. The accompanying monochrome video was directed by Maxwell Gutteridge and sees the girls sauntering around blank-faced gluggling red wine, biting down on sticks of rock and launching tampons across the room. The group explained, "For the video we wanted to create something visually unsettling but still retaining an air of humour. The weird gross shots and objects flying everywhere along with our deadpan characters goes hand in hand with the change of pace and tone in the song.” - Holly Mullineaux
