WILL JOSEPH COOK HOLLY WOOD

Just six months after the Sweet Dreamer LP, the one and only Will Joseph Cook is ready to share what’s he’s been working on since. Apparently, the musician - who hails from Tunbridge Wells - has been writing every day and recording in his makeshift bedroom studio, so why not give us a look? The result is a three-track EP, called If You Want To Make Money, which is “about throwing off the pressures of success and validation. I feel like being so connected makes us constantly compare our lives to unachievable and often fake lifestyles; the EP is my response to that.” Sandwiched in-between the title-track (also a warning against social media, and an anti-Fiji Water protest song) and closer ‘Fish’, is ‘Holy Wood’, an incredibly upbeat track that takes the listener to the setting of a hectic party where only one person understands you. It’s about making real-life connections, finding excitement in life and just enjoying it - something that’s not all too difficult while listening to this pop stomper. - HT
