We first chanced upon New York trio Wet's self-titled debut EP on Bandcamp back in 2013, and we've followed pretty much their every move since. The band are releasing their debut full-length album next year, 'Weak' is the second track drawn from it, after the astoundingly delicate 'Deadwater'. The thing we love most about Wet is their ability to make repetitive motifs feel completely fresh and invigorating; 'Weak' doesn't stray far from their usual techniques, with mellow reverb-y guitars leaning into sensitively arranged synthetic beats, but you can always bank on lead vocalist Kelly Zutrau to elevate those individual melodies to a higher plane of pop perfection as she does here. 'Weak' and Wet by name only, this band are only going from strength to strength. - DC
