WEIRDO have come out of basically nowhere with their debut release, ‘Butter’. With absolutely zero press assets, the anonymous pop prodigies have intrigued to the high heavens with a magnificently up-beat, witty charmer of a track. It’s an intelligent move, as the catchiness sinks into your blood like silky smooth chocolate, with the surreal chorus repeating “like butter flowing through my fingers/ all you do is dirty my clothes”. With a original, tongue-in-cheek video portraying all of the perks of modern day social media, there isn't a bad word to be said about WEIRDO. Words can’t really suffice on this occasion but the proof’s in the pudding – I’m intrigued, aren’t you? -JE
