Wand’s most recent album Plum saw a change in line up and a shift in feel, moving away from the relentlessly face-melting riffs of their earlier works in favour of a more complex and melodic direction. The now 5-piece consisting of Cory Hanson, Sofia Arreguin, Robert Cody, Lee Landey and Evan Burrows, have just shared a brillliant new single ‘Pure Romance’, which continues to explore the band's softer side. Opening with gently intertwined guitar parts, joined shortly by Hanson’s distinctive Thom Yorke-esque vocals, ‘Pure Romance’ builds up to a whimsical chorus, scattered with retro synthesizers.
