London-based three-piece Vaults have been crafting some of the most ornately sensuous pop music of the past two years, even making their way onto the soundtrack of steamy fetish flick Fifty Shades of Grey earlier in 2015. While the film itself was panned by pretty much every critic worth their salt, Vaults continue to earn plaudits for their glassy, epic take on The XX's soothing 3am garage-pop. 'Overcome' is a typically grandiose Vaults number, straddling Lapsley's uber cool soulful downtempo world and more mainstream pop spheres. with graceful synth swells complimenting vocalist Blythe Pepino's expressive tone superbly.
