Operating in a realm in which few others are daring to inhabit right now, French duo Her are taking influences from the 50’s and 60’s, throwing a devilishly sensual spin on proceedings, and delivering late night soul that is free from pretence and irresistibly honest. New video for ‘Union’ - the closing track from their Tape #1 release, sheds some light on the previously somewhat enigmatic pair, with the visuals partnering up nicely with Her’s slow-burning, blues-tinged soul. Also worth staying to the end with this video, as they deliver a sublime live rendition of Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’. A talented pair, no doubt. -JC
