Underwater Boys are a brotherly duo with a penchant for oddball constrasts. Their debut single, 'Everyone You Know' is the perfect encapsulation of that ethos, immediately presenting itself as a sugar-sweet doseage of woozy psych-pop, its only once you give into its charm that you start to notice the horror film glint in its eye. "It’s your love that’s filling me with dread," they spit, kicking back at romantic ideals and doe-eyed psychedelia of their peers - "everyone you know will disappear like gold," they subsequently warn. By the time things really amp up, it's like Mac DeMarco after ten tonnes of magic mushrooms - a woozy, cock-eyed look at romance in the 21st century, delivered with a slack jaw. It's a devilish combo that's caught the eye of Brighton new music superlabel Cannibal Hymns, who've snapped the two-piece up alongside their existing roster of Dream Wife, TRAAMS, Our Girl and more.
