TUSKS FALSE

Her first EP Ink clocked up over a million streams on Spotify, so London producer and recording artist Tusks must be feeling the pressure for follow up 'False', released 10th June via One Little Indian. The new single of the same name, however, shows there was nothing for Emily Underhill to worry about, as her spacious and soft vocals are every bit as beguiling as what we've previously heard. It's dark pop at its best, with foreboding bass and shimmering guitars swelling into a perfectly timed fever pitch. It's an exercise in minimalism as there are few frills distracting from her vocals, which shine through the darkness like a lighthouse on the edge of a stormy sea. A strong follow up and Tusks only continues to impress. - SJ
