TIMOTHY HELLER SEE YA!

Nothing brightens our days quite like some ferocious slacker-pop. It’s an enduring style that lies on the fringes of music, calling listeners back to a more down-to-earth perspective, whether we’re talking about Zuzu, Miya Foick, Niine, or Los Angeles based artist Timothy Heller. Today we’d like to introduce you to this promising new talent via thunderingly good track ‘See Ya!’. Opening with a sultry, shoegazey back-and-forth and Heller’s biting vocal - “did you really think we’d make it back, like everything was fine?” Throughout the whole track, her lyrics are brilliantly witty, honest and bursting with the self-respect of a woman setting herself way above a manipulative ex with this bold, alt-rock goodbye. After the first minute, the unassuming introduction is swiftly smashed by a fearsome electric guitar and punchy drums, whilst Heller’s vocals launch into a reverb-y new space. For the full four minutes of ‘See Ya!’, Timothy Heller fuels her emotion into this raging DIY rock-pop single that’ll have you coming back for more, although we reckon the ex got the message - they won’t be back. - Hannah Thacker
