There will always be a place in our hearts for surfy indie-rock like that of Liverpool four-piece The Night Café. Their new single ‘Finders Keepers’ is well-constructed piece of melodic laments, fortifying indie progressions, beach-rock undertones and overtones of bitter disappointment of missed opportunities. No doubt the hook that’ll stick with you in set to the lyric, “Today I should have found a whole new beginning,” and here to core of the song is revealed; the wish to move on from a situation, a person, a place, but yet failing to do so. It’s a trap many of us set for ourselves and it’s with great catharsis that we can blast ‘Finders Keepers’ and know that “you’re not the only one.” The single also comes with the announcement of The Night Café’s extensive UK headline tour in September and October this year, which will conclude in the band's biggest hometown show to date at Olympia Liverpool on October 18th.
