Honesty is at the heart of The Millennial Club, an earnest group of young men from Southern California, who wear their hearts on their sleeves and then put it into their music. Composed of singer/guitarist Andres Owens, bassist/keyboardist Jared Ortiz, guitarist/saxophonist Jake Stevenson, and drummer Tyler Kamei. The band have just released their debut EP, featuring two brand new tracks ‘MI’ and title number ‘She’s So Insane’. Speaking about this new release, TMC share: “The ‘She’s So Insane’ EP is an extremely honest collection of songs, and our journey as musicians has been captured in these tracks. It’s a really big deal for us because it’s the first complete set of work we’ve put out; because of that, it really feels like now, more than ever, people have a holistic view of us. I guess in a way, that means they really can (truly) see if they like our music, or if they simply like just one of our songs." Their music lies somewhere between the style of Empress Of and early 1975, as heard through their combination of 80s pop, beat-driven 90s R&B, and emotional, love-centered lyricism in lead track ‘She’s So Insane’. This song in particular centres around the line, “you said, 'She’s so insane', but honey I’m in love with you / Now isn’t that the same?”, which reveals that the song’s potentially dicey title is actually talking about the altered mental state that comes with falling in love.
