Taken from their upcoming debut album, The Lottery Winners have dropped a winner in their latest track, ‘21’. The tune furthers their desire to pump out anthemic indie bangers at an alarming pace, with dense percussion, twangy guitar lines and addictive vocal melodies combining to create a noisy, textured piece. No stranger to a bit of experimentation, however, the band load their guitars with effects that create a twangy sound bordering on the timbre of a sitar, especially during the atmospheric introduction. The four piece were discovered by the same man who signed the likes of Madonna and Talking Heads, and have gone on to support everyone from Madness to Tom Jones. As frontman Thom Rylance asks, “how does it feel to be 21?. Careless and free with no concept of ever growing up. Wouldn’t it be nice to freeze that moment in time?”. - Dan Peeke
