THE KTNA OWT

Twin sister duo The KTNA have unveiled their apocalyptic self-produced video for single ‘One Way Ticket (OWT)’, taken from their forthcoming Life Under Siege EP out later this year. Although the visuals plays into all the cinematic tropes of the end times - rationing, looting, religious incitement, meteorological events, close calls, and leaving the doomed planet behind - in reality, there’s much more grounded truth in ‘One Way Ticket’ than first appearances would have you believe. The Manchester sisters Hope and Millie Katana wrote this powerful single during a difficult time struggling with depression and financial woes a couple of years back, and no doubt they felt that a no-return trip away from their lives at the time would have seemed the only option. As they recall, "OWT is a snapshot in time when everything seemed to go wrong at once for us. It's based off the desire to run as far away as possible from everything.” The song is peppered with nineties RnB, murky trip-hop, organic drum patterns, velvety soul, and a dreamy production that takes the listener outside of themselves… somewhere far away. - Hannah Thacker
