THE GARDEN CALL THE DOGS OUT

After their euphoric set at London’s Electric Ballroom earlier his month, Californian self-proclaimed weirdos The Garden have shared another high energy cut from their forthcoming LP Mirror Might Steal Your Charm. In many ways ‘Call The Dogs Out’ is a regression to the duo’s earlier works circa The Life and Times of a Paperclip. At 2 minutes 35 seconds, Wyatt Shears’ distinctive slap-back bass sound sits in the foreground, as Fletcher’s frantic drumming somehow keeps the track steady. The chorus’ intoxicating hook ‘I have a special place that I’ve already trusted, it’s been with me for some time we are well adjusted’, sees the duo embracing their poppier side. As always, ‘Call The Dogs Out’ comes with a highly entertaining video. Yes there are dogs, but we wouldn’t advise putting them in the fridge. -Holly Mullineaux
