'In Time' is the first taste of Cork-based musician Eoin French aka Talos that we've had in 2015. And we're instantly whisked back to those days when we'd spin the crushingly pretty 'Tethered Bones' and 'Bloom' pretty much on repeat. 'In Time' is more of an expansion on those two excellent debut tracks than an volte face of any kind, there's still the same SOHN-ish glitches and French's vocal retains that haunting falsetto quality, but everything feels that little bit more polished and thoughtful, especially lyrically as French notes: “It’s about how we exist. We feel and experience a range of things - sadness, happiness, grief, anger - and these all fade. Regardless of what we do there is a constant passing of things. There’s a sense of promise or hope in that.” So far, so deep. French has been writing, recording and generally honing his live craft for most of this year; expect UK shows and hopefully a full release this side of Christmas. - DC
