SUDAN ARCHIVES LIMITLESS

Sudan Archives is a violinist, singer and songwriter who combines golden R&B/pop vocals with avant-garde songwriting and production. She has just dropped her debut album Athena which is a delightful listen. 'Limitless' is the pop gem which is placed third-to-last on the album. Sudan Archives says that this song is "about someone who's in an unhealthy relationship", she also goes on to say that it's "the corniest" of the four songs on the album that tackle this issue. The production is big - a soft hip hop beat, embellished with bells and clicking sounds, along with a booming sub-bass and emotional synths. 'Limitless' is definitely packed with catchy pop melodies, such as in the chorus line "limitless at our fingertips, don't sweat it just get it", but Archives does tackle deep issues in this song, asking "what happened to your dreams, all you care about is scenes". You also get a sense of sadness from the lyrics, that Archives has perhaps lost a close friend. -Ellie Rose-Davies
