Having already had our ears pricked by one multi-talented, Europe-wide artist collective in PREP very recently, we weren't sure if there was room for another equally dextrous crew on the scene, but SPiON have shown us the light. Formed of one musician and animator out in Bergen, Norway, a songwriting talent in London and a videogame score supervisor based in Copenhagen, SPiON come together under one banner to create the sort of sultry electronically-charged tunes that PREP would approve of. They've written for the likes of Pusha T, MNEK and Sinead Harnett in the past and that knack with high-gloss melodies and sleek choruses shows on debut song, 'Sunset', with an extra layer of grandiosity added by the Sølvguttene - that's Norway's public broadcasting company, their BBC, essentially. Expect big things in the pipeline from these masters of all trades. - DC
