Soul Button has recently dropped his debut album, and with it, the incredible ‘Deception’. This track is artistic and industrial, treating dull, thudding and heavily reverberating percussive sounds with just as much importance as the airy synths that flitter around in the background. Over its 7 minute duration, this track twists and turns, adding subtle textural changes here and there, with the squelchy basslines changing the musical landscape when they enter. The entire Phantom Existence album is an exciting piece of electronic music, with its eclectic instrumentation and non-standard structures providing that Soul Button is amongst the finest in his game. - Dan Peeke
