We can all relate to that feeling when there's a party going on but the comfort of sofa forbids you to leave. 'Pitted', the newest single from Norwegian punk band Sløtface, is about fighting through the temptation to stay in and making the most of a night out that you weren't totally psyched about to begin with. The band explain, “Pitted is our own little pep talk for getting out of the house when you would really prefer to stay in and chill on the couch. No, not every night out is killer, but sometimes those nights make the best stories and this song is full of good stories from bad nights out". Musically, Sløtface have refined their scrappy punk beginnings into a perfectly formed pop-punk gem with catchy hooks, noisy guitars and amusing anecdotal lyrics. 'Pitted' is also the first track by the group that features a brass section, adding an exciting new dimension to their sound that we haven't heard before. Sløtface's debut album Try Not To Freak Out will be released by Propeller Recordings on the 15th of September. -HLMX
