Having already made a strong impression on the languid 'Curious' earlier in the year, South London singer-songwriter SIPPRELL returns with another smart, sensitive pop-soul number in 'Essence'. Backed by her band, The Citrus Clouds, whose luxurious beats are the standout element of the melody itself, SIPPRELL offers up layer upon layer of her dexterous vocal which ranges from a sleek BANKS-esque pop coo right through to the more R&B textured tonal grooves associated with Andreya Triana. Let's hope we get that EP we've been craving sooner rather than later. - DC
