SINK YA TEETH SOMEWHERE ELSE

With the campaign for their second album Two well and truly under way, Norwich's premiere disco-punk duo Sink Ya Teeth have given us another tasty treat to nibble on. Capturing an icy atmosphere, similar to that of Trentemøller's post-punk meets 80s-electro masterclass Fixion, pulsating synth bass wriggles around a strark, industrial beat on 'Somewhere Else'. With glacial synthesizers providing an eerie sense of elevation, Sink Ya Teeth's earnestly delivered vocal hooks and relatable lyrics bring things back down to earth. Opening up about a sense of inner conflict before reeling off a list of tempting ways to potentially spend your time, the band explain: "('Somewhere Else' is) about duplicity; about being in a situation where one party is ready to move on to pastures new but their actions haven’t quite caught up with their feelings yet. That inner nagging of restlessness and the pushing and pulling that comes with that." Two will arrive on the 28th of February. -Holly Mullineaux
