Following on from the release of ‘Knockin'’ last week, Shunus has dropped yet another single from his upcoming Peripheral EP. ‘Rootless’ continues in his typical atmospheric style with an intro not dissimilar to recent Bon Iver releases, with this loop-based piece focusing on creating a hypnotic sound rather than the melodies that the other vocal-led tracks on the EP bring. The British-born, Cairo-based DJ has managed to bring "industrial elements into dry and groovy rhythms, maintaining a Melodic Deep Tech sound by adding subtle hi-hats and arpeggios throughout all of the tracks". -Dan Peeke
