If you recognise Shay Lia’s name but can’t quite work out why, it’s almost certainly from her iconic feature on Kaytranada’s 99.9%: ‘Leave Me Alone’. Continuing this winning partnership, Shay Lia teamed up with Kaytranada and BADBADNOTGOOD for her first single since ‘Leave Me Alone’, bassy slowjam ‘Blue’. Now the dream team are back for ‘What’s Your Problem?’, which pairs one of Kaytranada’s fiercest grooves with Lia’s silky R&B vocal. Yet despite the star-studded production credits, the track was written exclusively by Lia, a French-Dijiboutian singer songwriter who is entirely self-taught. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, the track has already picked up love from TODDLA T and Annie Mac, the latter of whom gave ‘What’s Your Problem?’ it’s first spin on her Radio 1 show.
