SHAME CONCRETE

'Concrete' is the newest single from rowdy South Londoners Shame. It's their most accomplished release to date with throbbing post-punk-leaning bass guitar, unstoppable drums and wailing reverb-drenched guitars, which intensify into an almost shoegazey wall of noise. Vocal duties are split between lead singer Charlie Steen and bass player Josh Finerty in an entirely intentional call and response, which gets inside your psyche. Steen explains: "'Concrete' is about someone who’s trapped in a relationship and they’re being pummelled into surrender. It’s not about a physically abusive relationship – more an emotionally and psychologically draining one. The call-and-response vocals is the central figure’s own internal dialogue. They are dealing with two different things that they don’t want to address.” -HLMX
