‘Bleed My Heart’ is the latest track from Leeds-based three piece Shadowlark. With their northern roots shining through and influences from the likes of Portishead and Bat For Lashes making themselves known, this latest track is no different. We can hear their distinctively ethereal sound throughout, with atmosphere building from the get-go until we reach a powerful and catchy chorus. This is all cemented together using the production of long-term collaborator Dan Austin to finalise a perfect package of exciting new music. Of the track, lead vocalist Ellen Smith says, “although this song was obviously originally written about a break-up, the message really is – talk”.
