Seramic aka Marcus Foster is one of those artists who takes his time over the songs; an appreciator of classic songwriting. It’s this influence of old soul songs that led Foster to write his latest single ‘Keep On Breaking My Heart’. As the artist explains, “I felt the urge to write a song that was really stripped down, raw and honest.  I was listening to a lot of classic soul songs at the time and wanted to capture a real emotion/feeling in a similar way to those records I love.” While ‘Keep On Breaking My Heart’ shares many elements with the past two Seramic EPs, I Got You and Found, it’s really unlike anything we’ve heard from him before. It’s so bare and vulnerable, that there really are no places for the musician to hide - he has no choice but to wear his heart on his sleeve. The song also led to a collaboration with dancer Anna-Kay Gayle, who’s strong, fluid movements in the music video bring a whole new perspective to the song. Speaking about filming, Seramic recalls that “I have always wanted to shoot something in Thames Barrier park, it has an unusual atmosphere and feels like it could be anywhere in the world. I had an image in my head that she should wear something yellow to contrast against the coldness of the forest of grey pillars which I find strangely comforting. AK’s performance was so powerful and mesmerising, she really captured a balance between hope and letting go which is what the song is about for me.” - Hannah Thacker
