SANDSCAPE ARTIFICIAL RUSH

Fusing their respective backgrounds in jazz and electronic music, brand new duo Sandscape have come up with something beautifully different. A resonating bass-led slow groove, their debut release 'Artificial Rush' has given goose pimples in all the right places. Simmering in the same way of Massive Attack or Portishead, there is a free-formed allure to it as producer Dan Sonabend's intricate soundscapes meander around the delicate and hypotonic vocals of Eliza Shaddad. Both bringing their multi-cultural identities, spanning Iraqi, Scottish, Israeli and Sudanese heritage, this music is the definition of melting pot. There is absolutely nothing artificial about this. - SJ
