SAM GLEN FOUR CORNERS

For his first appearance here at TMR, 23-year-old London-based musician Sam Glen puts forth the soundtrack to our anxiety in new single ‘Four Corners’. It’s an alternative bit of songwriting that we file next to fellow grown emos Gabriel Black, The Neighbourhood and Jimi Somewhere. Over lofi guitars, Glen’s distinct voice goes into full confessional as he exposes a troubled though process, “I am convinced that I am in a maze, / Four corners keep me tied, / There’s no escape.” The track pushes on at an unrelenting tempo, the listener being relegated to bystander, which is also the role that Glen takes alongside us. Wait for the shift at around two minutes as you’ll hear the truth behind ‘Four Corners’. - Hannah Thacker
