SALTWATER SUN THE WIRE

With a sound equivalent to ‘00s band Blood Red Shoes, woke indie-rockers Saltwater Sun face up the ills of our digital society in ‘The Wire’. Vibrant strings, rumbling bass and persistent drums combine as a moreish, dark melody. While it's all too easy to throw yourself around in time to the music without much regard for the song’s message, it's not one you could skip. That first word in Jen Stearne’s distinctive voice should give you a clue - “apathy”. If clues aren't your thing, then take note from the band instead: “Recently I think we’ve found ourselves part of a society divided by misinformation and distrust. The Wire is taking a look at the turbulent times we live in; the world’s never been so connected, yet it’s very easy to feel detached.” - HT
