After what feels like a painfully long hiatus, My Sad Captains are back with a re-jigged line-up and a shiny new album on the way. Now consisting of Ed Wallis (vox/guitar), Ben Walker (drums), Leon Dufficy (guitar) Henry Thomas (keys) and Steve Blackwell (bass), the Bella Union-signees have shared the first glimpse of LP number 4 Sun Bridge, which comes out on the 6th of October. New single, 'Everything At The End Of Everything' is a beautiful sprawling number, which blends together pristine self-production, gorgeous analogue synthesizers, delicate vocals and dreamy guitars. The whole thing is constantly propelled forward by a persistent motorik rhythm section, as you find yourself becoming slowly hypnotised. Wallis explains: "Our last record, 'Best Of Times', was primarily about doing one thing well – a kind of mid-tempo, dreamy kraut-pop. Our aim with this record was to be more dynamic, and push things out in different directions; simultaneously stretching out the ambience while sharpening the focus." -HLMX
