RØMANS HAPPY LOVE

World renowned songwriter and artist in his own right, RØMANS serves up a piping hot slice of soulful R&B-pop titled ‘Happy Love’. Opening with sparse and sexual instrumentation, Sam Roman’s voice glistens with John Legend-worthy expression. “What’s the point in talking ‘bout you and me,” the repeated line which has now emerged as the focal point for a story of one middle-aged couple falling in and out of love under the directorial eyes of Sam Davis and Nick Morris. Speaking about the construction of ‘Happy Love’, he recalls that “I played it to my manager and label and they suggested adding a Middle 8 - I obliged and really loved what came out of it. That’s the great thing about playing unfinished music to people you trust, sometimes you get pushed in a direction you never would have anticipated yourself.”” This experience proves that even the most established of songwriters still benefit from outside advice, even the likes of RØMANS who has penned and produced songs for the likes of Disclosure, AlunaGeorge, Kwabs, Låpsley. - HT
