Nashville vocalist REMMI has popped up a few times over the last year, either on her own slick pop material ('Capable') or lending her impressive vocal chops to the likes of Lucian ('Bobby K'). REMMI is stepping out on her own again this week though, and 'Awake, Asleep' might just be our favourite track that she's put her name to yet. REMMI weaves febrile synth pulses and crisp processed beats around the smoky vocal hook ("Are we awake, are we asleep, come on tell me what it really means,") to devastatingly catchy effect. Here's hoping this is the start of a full tilt solo career. - DC
