RALPH COLD TO THE TOUCH

The difficult second single. Is that a thing? We’re not sure, but by the sound of Toronto-based RALPH (aka Raffa Weyman)’s second single ‘Cold To The Touch’, there’s no sign of slowing down. In fact, she has made a remarkable step up. Where debut single ‘Trouble’ was a slow-burning, almost subdued, lo-fi electronic-pop affair, ‘Cold To The Touch’ is an all guns blazing, 80’s disco infused, crisp-as-you-like pop banger. We're currently on about our 10th listen in the space of an hour, and it’s a track that once it’s got you by the scruff of the neck, simply won’t let go. “Not looking for love / hate to say but it’s time you gave it up / just trying to be honest / I’m not what you wanted” Weyman sings in the irresistibly catchy chorus. An honest sentiment, delivered presumably to a previous partner. All we can say is that RALPH is definitely what we wanted, and with this new single she has offered up one of the finest pop tracks of the year thus far. -JC
