PUMAROSA HEAVEN

Following the announcement of their sophomore album Devastation, with it's frantic lead single 'Fall Apart' back in July, London's Pumarosa have shared a celestial new dance anthem in 'Heaven'. Opening with muted electronic hi-hats and a thudding kick sound, a sequence of delayed guitar chimes trigger singer Isabel Munoz-Newsome distinctive breathy vocals. Picking up the pace in the track's addictive pre-chorus, "I went up to heaven all alone, I carried the load cos I was strong...", a weight is lifted when the chorus finally hits with the longing question "Oh won't you stay?" Echoing Bronski Beat's iconic 'Smalltown Boy' with a tumbling, pitch-shifted guitar line, 'Heaven' pays homage to some of the greatest dance floor fillers from the 80s and 90s, whilst remaining completely relevant and interesting. Devastation will arrive on the 1st of November via Fiction Records. -Holly Mullineaux
