The BRIT School-educated newcomer continues to prove why 4AD have invested in her, as this sparkling release - taken from her forthcoming debut LP - is an assured and unique offering that nods to label-mate and genre flag-bearer Grimes. Soaked in a twinkling Eastern hue, Pixx creates an earworm refrain that lodges between the ears amid tension-building verses dominated by her hushed, purring vocal.
