Phoria have been plying their deeply affecting electronic trade for some time now, but the talented Brighton quintet show no sign of letting-up as each release seems to improve on the last. 'Everything Beta' is the latest cut to appear from their long-awaited forthcoming LP Volition out June 3 via X Novo, and it's a stunning, typically atmospheric piece of work that washes beautifully around the highly moving vocal work of main-man Trewin Howard. Clicking, glitchy rhythms offset the chilling synth work and Howard's powerful falsetto as the track builds to its chilling climax. Their songcraft sets them apart and continues to suggest deserved company with the likes of SOHN and James Blake in terms of the emotional output involved.
