Written, recorded, produced, the whole works, on their own, 'Creepy' is the excellent psych-tinted debut single proper from Los Angeles pair Oyster Kids. We've not come across the band previously but there's a confident air to this track, almost as if they've been making music together for a decade. It's got that quintessential LA feel to it, with beachy harmonies and hazy synths lilting together, but what we love most is the crack and crunch of gnarly guitars which add an altogether darker finish to the West Coast dreaming. A thrilling first offering. - DC
