'My Voice' is the wildly explorative new single by experimental artist Nuha Ruby Ra. Having captured our imaginations with her unbounded EP How To Move in 2021, we were more than a little excited to lift the lid on her newest offering. Surpassing our, admittedly high, expectations, 'My Voice' is an avant-garde anthem. Centred around a hypnotic guitar riff, doused in pedal-induced dirt, Nuha's eerie vocals play out like a maddening inner monologue. She elaborates: “'My Voice' is post How To Move, Pre everything else I’ll do, I’m in the waiting room. I’m exploring what I can do. I play all the instruments and build surreal sonic architecture that’ll make you move differently. There’s a rave in the bat cave. Don’t be fooled by the beginning, the middle or the end.” Arriving alongside an equal parts arty and unsettling video, directed by talented long-term friend and collaborator Katya Ganfield, the colourful Kubrickian imagery compliments the maddening track perfectly.
