Last time we heard from them, brother sister duo New Portals gave us the seasonal 'Winter Skin' but fitting for the new year they bring us sunnier single 'Stereo'. A glitchy electronic track, this faster one has an almost schizophrenic quality in the way it switches between reflective and chaotic with astounding ferocity. Flicking between the two extremes of Ruth Aicken's slick vocals and gnarly breakdowns, it keeps you guessing at each turn. Hailing from Ireland, the band will be exporting to SXSW this year and with that we reckon they are well on their way to stardom. Until then, turn up 'Stereo' to eleven. - SJ
