Nervous Conditions are the words on everyone's lips right now and with good reason. After catching a couple of their increasingly infamous live shows last year we didn't hesitate to select them as one of our TMR Top 20 of 2017. Their brand new single 'The President' exceeds our already high expectations with its howling saxophones, haunting guitar lines and hypnotic drums. The shortened version of one of the eight-piece's set list highlights is an adrenaline-inducing snapshot of Nervous Conditions' sound, which explores everything from free jazz to experimental post-punk with some violin and synthesizer thrown in to keep it interesting. Inspired by a Pere Ubu performance in their hometown of Cambridge, front man Connor Browne explains the importance of improvisation in their music, writing: "I don't think songs are finished articles once they have been written and brought to play live. I think a lot of the songs are never finished and when we record, you're just going to hear a version of that song...They are constantly evolving."
