NAO FOOL TO LOVE

As the year speeds into March, those artists tipped for 2016 are really starting to hit their stride. We have already been treated to more incredible Dua Lipa and now NAO, who came third in the BBC's Sound Of poll this year, is staking her claim. "Fool To Love" - set to impact 8 April via Little Tokyo/RCA - is the latest slice of trend-setting, "wonky funk", as the talented newcomer calls it. Produced by the increasingly sought-after Grades, it follows-on perfectly from online smash "Bad Blood", as the Jai Paul-nodding, funk-filled R&B production, complete with glitching, stop-start rhythms provides the perfect bed for the Hackney-based artist's unique, empowering vocal work. With a debut album in the pipeline and a busy live schedule through April and May, including two shows at London's Village Underground, 2016 is NAO's for the taking. -G.O'B
