Ahead of the release of their HEX EP, out this Friday 25 March via CRC Music, Mt. Wolf have unveiled their latest piece of electronic, folk-tinged pop. Continuing where its predecessor left off, 'Michael' is another example of the London trio's wholly arresting song-craft, as once again singer Sebastian Fox's hymnal falsetto builds from a delicate whisper into typically soaring, beautifully piercing vocal work that continues to recall Jonsi. The clicking, twitching percussion elements that appear midway through, gently saunter this new cut along as a deep pedal brings a bed of warmth to the otherwise chilling track. With live appearances confirmed at Dot To Dot Festival and a London headline at Oslo on 10 May, Mt. Wolf continue to set themselves apart thanks to their perfectly poised and affecting approach. -G.O'B
