Compared to the likes of Prince and The Weeknd, as well as being hyped up by the one and only Kendrick Lamar for his rework of ‘These Walls’, there’s clearly more than one reason to be excited by Moss Kena. One such reason is his debut EP, I Found You In 06, produced by an all star cast including Pluss (Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Drake, Future), T- Minus (Bryson Tiller, Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky), and Donut (Jeremih, PnB Rock), among others. Infused with elements of pop, R&B, and hip-hop, it’s Kena’s soulful falsetto that pervades the whole EP. Let’s turn out attention to standout single ‘Spend Some Time’ in which Kena temptingly croons over old-school-with-a-twist beats - “girl you’re like an animal, you ‘ain't human, girl, I think you got it all, you’re elusive.” In response to Moss Kena’s expert flirtation, is the wordplay of RCA Records’ label companion Leikeli47, who doesn’t hold back with her honesty with many a sassy inflection, “we can even raise a glass, baby, I even tell you ‘bout my past, baby, might even let you touch my ass, baby.” It’s her cheeky bravado against Kena’s smoothness that makes this pairing spark. - HT
