MOSES SUMNEY ME IN 20 YEARS

Experimental folk artist Moses Sumney has dropped new song 'Me in 20 Years', the third and latest track from his forthcoming double album græ, which will be released in two parts this year via Jagjaguwar. This California talent has opened for Dirty projectors and Sufjan Stevens, as well as collaborated with Beck and Thundercat. His 2017 debut LP Aromanticism is spell-binding and unique, decorated with blissful vocal harmonies and angelic instrumentation. The new tune 'Me in 20 Years' is a song about loneliness, the passing of time and anticipation around romance...With your imprint in my bed A pit so big I lay on the edge. Sumney co-produced it with Daniel Lopatin and Matt Otto. Held piano chords and synth bass set the tone with their dramatic and depressive timbre. Moses sings in falsetto with an incredible control and a particular beautiful melancholia on the line I'm left wonderin' if it's written on my urn that I'll burn alone like a star. The song is minimal and spacious, even when the track becomes more ornamented with layered synths and a blunt beat. Check out this new gem, and the lyric video which supplements it. - Ellie Rose-Davies
