Following-up 'Your Best American Girl' was never going to be easy. The first taste of Mitski's forthcoming, Dead Oceans-released full-length was, and remains, an epic, spine-tingling statement of intent, that bulldozed the Brooklynite deservedly into 2016's indie limelight. Now, the emotionally-charged singer-songwriter has revealed the opening track from Puberty 2, due 17 June. With typical tongue-in-cheek and relatable cynicism, 'Happy' builds around Mitski's everyday, story-telling skills - complete with "cookie wrappers and empty cups of tea" - and into another fist-clenching outing from one of the most exciting and unique artists to properly emerge this year. The track comes alongside news of a full band tour of Europe, including a new London date at Dome Tufnell Park on 6 October; we're very happy to have more new music from Mitski. -G.O'B
