In an age where the idea of mystique and anonymity is all too played out, there are a handful of artists who are playing the card rather well. One of those artists is Michl, who has been ever so finely plotting his rise the past 9 months or so. One can’t argue with nearly 4 million SoundCloud streams off the back of 3 singles, and this week Michl announced the release of his eagerly anticipated debut EP, along with the unveiling of two more unheard tracks, ‘Broken Roots’, and the melancholic ‘Gone’ - which we’ve highlighted below. It’s another majestic, sultry electronic jam from the mysterious artist, featuring Michl’s immediately recognisable tender vocal runs, placed atop of a scattered, spectral electronic backdrop. The debut EP is out tomorrow, so we’ve not got long to wait to dive into the full release, but to whet your appetite, get lost in ‘Gone’. -JC
